The Counterfeiters
Man, if there’s one kind of movie I am entirely sick of, it’s crime movies. The Counterfeiters is just one more story about some “master criminal” who’s trying to get away with some huge “score.” If you’ve seen one of these things, you’ve seen them all.
Will he get away with it? Will he get caught? Who cares?!?
What was that? The movie takes place in a concentration camp?
This haunting, challenging, riveting film about the psychological torment of a master criminal forced to work in a concentration camp will keep you thinking for days, no — decades, about the nature of self-preservation, the power of principle, and the destructive moral choices forced upon people by the brutal Nazi regime. A masterpiece.
