The Fall
The Fall is the new movie from Tarsem, the guy that did The Cell, but he wants you to know that The Cell was the studio’s project, so it was not his fault.
He also wants you to know that The Fall is totally different from The Cell. I think he should have changed more than just two letters in the title then. He says the only thing the same is the horses, butThe Fall is like 70% horses, so you do the math. Oh yeah and also it’s about two worlds, one of which is inside a character’s head, but that’s just a coincidence.
Tarsem also wants you to know that he paid for this whole movie himself with money he made from directing commercials and that if you pay for a movie yourself, then it doesn’t have to make any sense.
The main character in The Fall is a crippled guy, and Tarsem is real proud of how he bullied actor Lee Pace into pretending he was actually crippled for the whole shoot. None of the actors or crew knew Pace could walk, and he had to stay in his own hotel and never be close to anyone because Tarsem thought it would make the movie better.
I think that’s the fucking stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Maybe he could have gotten a studio to pay for like $200 of the movie so he could have afforded to take a class at a community college about how to direct actors instead of shampoo or energy drinks or whatever it is he does.
